In May 2004, a new channel named MRTV-4 was broadcasted to public for two hours a day with the cooperation of Myanmar Radio and Television under the Ministry of Information. In 2005, it broadcasted 6 hours daily programs with looping system. It broadcasted free to air for Yangon and neighboring areas in 2006, and for Mandalay and neighboring areas in 2007. In 2009 April, MRTV-4 channel was broadcasted 18 hours a day in which the advertisements and commericals are included. Since 2010 September, MRTV-4 has become a 24 hour free to air broadcasting TV channel and the most popular TV channel in Myanmar and it is completely 7 years old at present. .
